Michael
Steven Cruz. is an aspiring singer/songwriter/composer and
multi-instrumentalist, and has his Bachelors of Music Degree in Guitar
Performance from Vanguard University. While working towards his goal(s), he's
looking into work experience in the Music and/or Entertainment field.
His
current instrument is the classical guitar. In his perspective, when studying
classical music on an instrument, there are some benefits to it. That benefit
is having the ability to play multiple instruments such as the violin, piano,
bass guitar, and sing in a tenor range.
He
is currently involved in a few groups. Those groups are the guitar quartet,
guitar duo, up and coming band from 2011, and church worship band(s). For his
quartet it's rare for being offered gigs. The quartet plays compositions
ranging from Baroque, Classical, Romantic, and 20th Century, Film(s) and Video
Game(s).
Michael has played guitar for his home church, Holy Family. Now, he plays Sundays at 5:30 pm at St. Martin de Porres Catholic Church. The more he listens
to singers and instrumentalists, the more he thinks of his own playing and
determine what to play through practicing.
Michael
is also involved in a another worship band that plays for young adult prayer
nights one Saturday every other month. In this band, he shares lead and backup
vocals as well play the guitar and piano. He currently plays guitar for the Coastal California Chorale and Heaven Sound.
