What we offer





At Neal Music Instruction, your child will have a complete music curriculum. Besides playing music, your child will learn music theory, ear training, develop proper technique skills, and learn to become an excellent sight reader.


For those that are interested, a component on music composition is also offered. Performance opportunities are valuable experiences, and we are pleased to offer them. There are two studio recitals each year, for Halloween and springtime.


Advancing students can take the Royal Conservatory of Music RCM exam.


Rest assured, with private lessons, your child will progress at the rate most appropriate for them. All you need is a positive attitude, and we will take care of the rest!

Neal Music Instruction has been in Anaheim Hills since 1996. Many of our students stay for 10 years or more, until they leave for college. We have helped several become music majors, music degree graduates, music minors, and hopefully, all, cultivate a lifelong hobby.

Dr. Reid is the Chair of the Department of Music and a Professor of Music at Vanguard University. She holds a Doctor of Musical Arts from the University of Oklahoma, along with a master’s and bachelor of music from California State University, Fullerton. As a performer, her national engagements include roles such as Musetta in La Bohème, Miss Pinkerton in Old Maid and the Thief, soloist for the Messiah and the Creation, soloist with Ballet Oklahoma and the Canterbury Choral Society of Oklahoma City.

Sunghyun Kim holds a Master of Music degree in Voice Performance from the Peabody Institute of Johns Hopkins University, and a Bachelor of Music degree in Voice Performance from New England Conservatory. As a performer, her stage experience includes roles in operas such as L’incoronazione di Poppea, Cendrillon, Sour Angelica, West Side Story, Ballad of Baby Doe, and Orpheus and Eurydice. She performed as a soloist in Alleluja! Lobet den Herren in seinem Heiligtum SWV 38 by Heinrich Schutz in the New England Conservatory. She also made awards in her hometown, Korea. She won second prize in the Shinye and Haneum music competitions. She strongly believes in the healing power of music to mend hearts and bring hope and light. Through her performances and dedicated teaching, she strives to bring comfort and brighten the hearts of those who listen and learn from her. She believes God drives her strength and she is a child of God who follows the Lord’s guidance.
